Zeppole

Ingredients: 

  • 1 Cup of Water lukewarm 
  • 2 Cups of Flour (All-purpose) 
  • 1 tsp. of Yeast 
  • 1 TBSP of Sugar  
  • 1 tsp. of Salt 
  • 1 TBSP of Olive Oil 
  • 32 ounces of Vegetable Oil 
  • ½ Cup of Powdered Sugar 

Directions: 

  1. Add yeast to water and let set for about 5 minutes.
  2. Add sugar and olive oil to the cup of water and mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, add flour and salt and mix well.
  4. Add the water with yeast and sugar to bowl of flour.
  5. Mix well using a rubber spatula.
  6. Cover and let rise for 90 minutes.
  7. Heat Vegetable oil to 300-325 degrees F.
  8. Once oil is hot, add golf ball size portions of the dough into the oil and fry until golden brown.
  9. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and Enjoy!
