Fried Mozzarella

Yields: 6-8 Servings Prep time: 15 minutes Cook time: 15-20 minutes

 Ingredients: 

• 2 lbs. of whole-milk mozzarella 

• 7 eggs 

• 2 cups of Panko breadcrumbs 

• 2 cups of plain breadcrumbs 

• 2 cups of flour 

• 16 oz. of vegetable oil 

• 2 tbsp. of chopped Italian parsley 

• 3 TBSP of parmesan cheese 

• ½ tsp. of Salt 

• ¼ tsp. of Black pepper 

• ½ tsp. of Granulated garlic 


Instructions:

  1. Slice: Cut the mozzarella cheese block into ½-inch by 1-inch-thick slices. 
  2. Prepare Egg Wash: In a large bowl, whisk together 7 eggs, ½ teaspoon salt, ¼ teaspoon black pepper, ½ teaspoon granulated garlic, 1 tablespoon chopped parsley, and 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese.
  3. Prepare Breading: In a separate shallow dish, combine panko breadcrumbs, plain breadcrumbs, 1 tablespoon chopped parsley, and 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese. Mix well.
  4. Coat Mozzarella: a.  Dredge each mozzarella slice in flour, shaking off any excess.
  1. Dip the floured slice into the egg wash, ensuring it's fully coated.
  2. Roll the slice in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
  3. Dip the breaded slice back into the egg wash, then coat again in the breadcrumb mixture.

5.  Fry: Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot to 325°F (165°C). Carefully add the coated mozzarella slices and fry for approximately 3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.

6. Serve: Remove the fried mozzarella from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve immediately with your favorite marinara sauce. Enjoy!
