Italian Bread

INGREDIENTS:

* 2 & 1/2 cups of Bread Flour (King Arthur Recommended)

* 1 tsp. of salt

* 2 tbsp. of olive oil

* 1 cup of lukewarm water

* 1 tbsp. of dried yeast

* 1 egg


INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup of lukewarm water and then add olive oil.

2. In a large bowl, add flour and salt (mix well).

3. Add water with yeast into flour (mix well).

4. Slowly pour 3/4 cup of water into flour (mix well).

5. Remove dough from bowl and place on a surface dusted with flour.

6. Knead dough for 3-5 minutes.

7. Roll dough into a ball and them place in a bowl dusted with flour, cover., and let rise for one hour.

8. Remove dough from bowl, cut in half and then roll into loaves. 

9. Line a tray with parchment paper and the sprinkle semolina on it.

10. Place loaves on the tray and let rise for 30-45 minutes.

11. Once dough is risen, cut slats across the loaves and them brush a beaten egg across the loaves.  (Sesame seeds optional).

12. Preheat oven to 410 degrees and then bake for 25-30 minutes.
